“Thousands of people suffered devastating losses from the Marshall Fire. It has been incredible to see the victims and community members rally around each other, rebuild, and recover,” said District Attorney Michael Dougherty. “But, for some, the trauma and financial losses remain incredibly difficult. It is our hope that any settlement will allow all those impacted to continue to recover and rebuild.”

Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty began sentencing, urging the judge to impose the maximum penalty. “This is not the first vehicular homicide sentencing I've stood before the court on. These cannot continue this way. The deterrent factor is significant,” said Dougherty.
